Findon Primary School
The Regeneration Generation Project
Mill Park, Victoria
Findon Primary School would like to further develop their current kitchen garden and sustainability program to facilitate the propagation of the Black Soldier Fly, a self harvesting insect capable of converting 40kg of organic waste a day.
The Regeneration Generation Project will implement and engage a community compost program through a bucket exchange where students, families, neighbours and local hospitality busineses bring crude food scraps and organic 'waste' to school to enable the propagation of black soldierfly larvae, school composting facilities, biointensive gardens and central worm farms.
Findon Primary is an inclusive school, attendended by close to 400 students by a diverse range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
