QLD - Cairns Basketball
Through the SITA Community Grants program, Cairns Basketball will be replacing its traditional electric hot water system with a SolarHart Heat Pump System which will reduce the associations hot water costs by an estimated 66 per cent. These savings will be re-invested into the associations junior participations programs 'Girls on the Ball' and 'Tiny Taipans' which are learn-to-play programs for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 7 years.
The implementation of this project will have an ongoing direct impact on at least 150 of the associations youngest members and an indirect impact on its 1,200 members.
David Herbert, CEO, Cairns Basketball said, "Cairns Basketball sincerely thanks SITA Australia for enabling us to participate in the very generous Community Grants program. The SITA Grant will enable us to put in place an important component in our Smart Energy initiative."
