The Community Place

Kalinga Community Garden

The Community Place has recieved $11,027 in funding to develop an outdoor garden space as part of the redevelopment and transformation of the existing bowls club in to a new community centre. 

Operating in the suburb of Wooloowin for the past 25 years, the Community place recently acquired the lease of the old Kalinga Bowls Club in Brisbane .

For the past year they have been renovating the space to develop a new community centre  that will be open to the entire community.  

Local families, seniors and the community at large will be encouraged visit and participate in the development and maintenance of this new garden space.

It will encourage the participation of playgroups, mums/parents groups, week-end gatherings, english classes, seniors groups, disability groups, and mental health groups who will use these spaces on a weekly basis.
